building balanced dogs,
one confident guardian at a time.
A note from Jordan Love, owner and head trainer at Do What Works Dog Training:
Do What Works Dog Training was born from a passion for helping people and their dogs thrive together. My training approach empowers dog guardians, supports dogs, and fosters relationships built on mutual trust & respect. The kinds of relationships where growth is not only possible, but inevitable.
Many training methods focus on making dogs obey, but they often overlook our role. Teaching your dog to listen is important, but helping you lead in a way that makes sense to your dog is the missing piece. I believe that the key to success with your dog is understanding them deeply and leading in a way that honors their instincts and aligns with their natural behavior. Perhaps you’ve worked with a professional trainer before but have struggled to get the results to stick. Perhaps your dog learned the “hard skills” (the obedience, the walk), but without a balanced relationship to sustain and support the growth, the results will, inevitably, fade.
Expecting your dog to understand you without also understanding them is a recipe for frustration on both sides.
My approach is about working with your dog’s instincts, not against them, by helping you to see the world through their eyes. First, I will help you develop a deep understanding of your dog. Then, I will help you translate this knowledge into actionable steps that lead to real progress. For instance, you’ll learn how to interpret your dog’s signals and respond in a way that builds trust—whether it’s calmly guiding them through leash reactivity or teaching them to relax in new environments. I will guide & support you in identifying the simplest and most effective solutions for success, all while building your confidence to continue doing so long after our time together is done.
I can’t wait to help you create a more joyful and connected life with your dog. Welcome to Do What Works Dog Training—let’s get started!
